Six casks. Seven drams. An evening with Alasdair Day, Master Distiller for Isle of Raasay, joining us live on the big screen.

Following the success of our Finn Thomson evening, we’re delighted to welcome another special guest to our screens at Spier & Wright. Join us for an exploration of 'Na Sia' ("The Six" in Gaelic) ~ the six cask components at the heart of Raasay’s distinctive single malt ~ with Alasdair sharing his knowledge and perspective on each cask style that contributes to its signature character.

Raasay’s recipe combines peated and unpeated spirit matured separately in American rye whiskey, virgin Chinkapin oak and Bordeaux red wine casks. This tasting brings together all six five-year-old Na Sia single cask expressions, before culminating in Isle of Raasay Cask Strength: the six component styles brought together in one whisky.

Na Sia 5YO — American Rye Casks
Unpeated 61.0% · Peated 60.0%
Pineapple, pepper and buttery sweetness, with earthy smoke in the peated expression.

Na Sia 5YO — Virgin Chinkapin Oak Casks
Unpeated 61.8% · Peated 62.6%
Toffee, dark fruit and oak tannin, with gentle smoke in the peated expression.

Na Sia 5YO — Bordeaux Red Wine Casks
Unpeated 61.2% · Peated 59.9%
Black cherry, dark fruit and maritime character, with wood smoke in the peated expression.

Isle of Raasay Cask Strength — 61.3%
Our final dram brings the six styles together, combining dark fruit, honey, spice and gentle peat.

On the night, we’ll explore the three unpeated expressions first, followed by the three peated expressions, before finishing with Cask Strength.
